UNIVERSITY CAREER

1972: Associate professor

1979: University professor

Head of Faculty at the Budapest University of Economics from 1983-2001, Director of the Institute from 2005-2010 at the same university.

University professor at the Technical and Economics University of Budapest from 2000. Founder of the faculty of business law, head of the faculty of management and social sciences until 2011.

Currently professor emeritus at the Institute for business law, with a main professional field of economic and company law, touching on the subject of legal problems concerning insolvency.

2008-2011: Rector of the Budapest College of Management.

CAREER IN STATE ADMINISTRATION 

1963-1969: legal lecturer at the Ministry for Urban Development, responsible for preparing legislation

1980-1990: Deputy Minister of Justice, responsible for preparing economic legislation, has led inter alia the working processes of committees responsible for creating company law and related legislation.

1989-1990: Government commissioner for deregulation, has managed the complete overhaul of the Hungarian legislation background.

2004-2007: Government commissioner for government transformation.

MAJOR HONORS AND AWARDS

1985: State Award (predecessor of the Széchenyi Award)

2002: Middle Cross of the Order of the Hungarian Republic

2006: Middle Cross of the Order of the Hungarian Republic with a star decree

MAJOR SOCIAL FUNCTIONS

1994-2002: President of the Hungarian Lawyers’ Association

from 2010 (present): President of the Hungarian Lawyers’ Association

from 2008 (present): Vice Chairman of the Association of Economic and Scientific Societies

from 1993 (present): Chief editor of the magazine titled Economics and Law.

1988: Head of the Codification Committee of the Code of Company Law;

1996: Head of the Codification Committee of the Code of Company Law;

2005: Head of the Codification Committee of the Code of Company Law;

1998-2012: Member of the Main Commission of the Codification of the Civil Code

1998-2012: Member of the Editorial Board of the Codification of the Civil Code

2014 (present): Head of the Codification Committee of the Code of Company Registration and Liquidation
